Big Lake White Caps End Hawks' Season
Big Lake played long ball in this one and eliminated the Hawks from Region 7C play. As was the case in both tourney games, the opponents hit and the Hawks didn't when they needed to. Darran Greene took the loss for the Hawks going 6 and 1/3 with Adam Kostecka, the draftee from Y.A. going the rest of the way. Jeff Engel and Brandon Stender, drafted catcher from Y.A., had two hits on the game. The Hawks thank their fans and volunteers for all their support during the 2008 season!

Hawks Drop Region Opener to Albertville 4-3
The Villians jumped out to a 4 run lead early and hung on with great fielding plays late to hold off the Hawks 4-3. Albertville wildness gave the Hawks plenty of chances, but the big two-out hit was nowhere to be found. Mike Mueller went all 9 for the Hawks.

Hawks Win Crow River South Playoffs with 8-4 Victory Over Brownton, Draft Kostecka and Stender!

The Hawks outlasted the Bruins as they overcome a 4-3 deficit in the 7th with a 5 spot in the 8th to win the seeding game 8-4. Justin Perlich, Dereck Wolter and Taylor Peters lead the Hawk attack with 2 hits each. Perlich and Aron Peters both delivered 2 rbi hits in the 8th. Craig Allison started for the Hawks and went 6 giving way to Mike Mueller who recorded the win. After the game, the Hawks drafted right handed pitcher Adam Kostecka from Young America and Catcher Brandon Stender from Young America. With the win, the Hawks earn a first round bye in the upcoming Region 7C tournament to take place in Hamburg.

Hawks Enter Region with 9-2 Win over Norwood
Game two of this affair was decided in the 3rd inning when the Hawks plated 7 on their way to a 9-2 win. The win secures a spot for Hamburg in the Region 7C tournament next weekend in Hamburg. Pete Hilgers and Jeff Engel each went 3-4 and Drew Gulden went 2-4 including a huge 3 rbi double in the decisive 3rd. Darran Greene worked 6 solid innings to get the win followed by Marcus Lane, Time Stuewe and Aron Peters all working an inning to close the Indians out. The Hawks now await the winner of the Y.A./ Brownton series for a seeding game that will take place either Sunday or Monday.

Hawks take Game 1 10-0 over Norwood in 8 innings
The Hawks attack pounded out 15 hits and Mike Mueller shut down the Indians with 7 innings of scoreless ball, striking out 13 and giving up only two hits. Dereck Wolter went 3-3 with 3 rbi and Jeff Engel was 2-4 with a HR. Pete Hilgers also added two hits on the night. The key inning was the 3rd when the Hawks pushed across 5 runs with 3 timely hits combined with 3 Norwood errors. The indians committed 4 errors on the night and the Hawks only one.
